YOUR MISSION
Hierarchically attached to General Management, you will be called upon to put in place the means, procedures and working tools for the execution of the stevedoring activity in the Port of Douala. You will coordinate the operations of transport, handling, loading and unloading of goods on board the boats or at the quay, including the planning and control of the achievement of objectives and ensuring good communication with the other actors in the chain. port logistics.
For this, you will be in charge of:
- Create and develop the stevedoring portfolio in the company;
- Follow the registration of the company in a union;
- Supervise the operations of unloading and loading of the goods;
- Manage storage in warehouses at the port and dispatch of goods;
- Send regular reports of the evolution of the activity to the hierarchy and follow the budget;
- Ensure the lifting of goods stored at the Port;
- Plan and organize the hiring of dockers in conjunction with the relevant unions;
- Be the link between the Port, the unions, the ships and HLOG;
- Communicate the arrival forecasts of ships managed by HLOG;
- Respect the time limits for the stay of boats at the quay in accordance with the contracts with the shipping companies and the port;
- Coordinate actions with port police and firefighters when needed;
- Respect and enforce the HSE rules of HLOGISTICS at the Port;
- Avoid any incident and theft of goods during and after disembarkation;
- Edit the request for validation of the costs, means and times related to the handling and warehousing activity;
- Monitor the management of disputes/processing of customer complaints (loss or damage to goods);
- Ensure the invoicing of stevedoring files;
- Support the initiation, follow-up and closure of service-process related nonconformities/problems/malfunctions;
- Ensure good communication in the service-process.
REQUIRED PROFILE
- Diploma: Have a BAC + 5 level in Logistics
- Good theoretical and practical knowledge of consignment, stevedoring and maritime transit;
- Good knowledge of stevedoring regulations and customs procedures.
- Experience: Minimum experience of 5 years as Manager in port handling.
Technical skills :
- Mastery of the computer tool and the Office Pack;
- Mastery of port handling;
- Knowledge in commercial prospecting and negotiation;
- Control of on-board stowage and business risks;
- Warehousing and warehousing technique;
- Mastery of the regulations in terms of stevedoring;
- Knowledge of Quality, Hygiene, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSSE);
- Practice of the English language;
- Production of reports (call reports, etc.);
