Job Definition
- Develops, deploys or controls the company’s systems and action plans in terms of quality, health, safety and environment – QHSE according to the regulations and standards in force.
- Puts in place the means of preventing risks linked to co-activity on construction sites and measures to protect the health of workers, or checks their implementation.
- Can coordinate a team.
Access to employment
- This job/profession is accessible with a diploma from Bac+2 to Master level in the Building or Public Works sector, or in the areas of quality, health, safety, environment and sustainable development.
- Work experience in the construction industry may be required. A Safety and Health Protection Coordination -CSPS- competency certificate is required for Safety and Health Protection Coordinators.
- Computer skills (spreadsheet, word processing, etc.) are required.
Main responsibilities
- Assess the professional risks related to a project, a construction site
- Analyze occupational safety and health risks
- Develop a risk map
- List the means of protection/risk prevention on site
- Control the application of legal and regulatory obligations
- Control the application of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) procedures
- Identify infractions, non-compliances, risks to the safety and health of personnel and notify them to project owners, contractors
- Define risk prevention measures
- Monitor the implementation of risk prevention actions
- Coordinate and implement actions in terms of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE)
- Monitor and update technical, economic and regulatory information.
- Spot and identify health and environmental risks
- Recommend risk management methods and tools
- Establish a Risk Prevention Plan (RPP)
- Organize training in occupational risk prevention
- Implement a quality management system (QMS)
- Establish a Quality Assurance Plan (QAP)
- Design a quality awareness system and implement it
- Determine the evolutions and improvements of a quality approach
- Check the compliance of safety devices for people and installations
- Train and raise awareness of site workers on the terms, rules and instructions for safety and health protection
- Diagnose the nature and origin of incidents and implement corrective measures
- Monitor and analyze statistical data of a construction site on safety, health, accidents at work and define corrective/preventive measures
