JOB SUMMARY
This involves supporting the management of the HIV project and improving the delivery of clinical HIV services in the health facility by offering a package of integrated HIV care and treatment services within the framework of the project. REACH95:

RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general supervision of the District Coordinator of Integrated HIV Services, he/she is responsible for:
Management activities (50%)
- Develop and submit to the District Coordinator of Integrated HIV Services a budgeted monthly work plan in line with the project work plan, clearly showing planned activities, outputs, timelines, targets and verification indicators.
- Review and validate the monthly work plan of the staff under his responsibility;
- Fully ensure the implementation of the monthly work plan in line with the budget in the most efficient way;
- Ensure the effective management of the multidisciplinary team on site to achieve project objectives
- Organize weekly continuing education sessions in liaison with the District Coordinator of Integrated HIV Services according to a defined and validated schedule.
- Conduct and facilitate supportive supervision and ongoing training for health care providers to ensure quality of services along the HIV/AIDS care cascade;
- Hold weekly and monthly coordination meetings with staff involved in the HIV/AIDS program for review of program performance, identification of problems and possible solutions;
- Organize weekly feedback meetings with the major and the doctor in charge of HIV services to present the performance of the project and the challenges/challenges;
- Organize monthly feedback meetings with the Director of the Hospital and the Medical Advisor of the hospital to provide high level residential feedback and present challenges and opportunities;
- Monitor and evaluate the system for collecting the data collected and reporting as well as the performance with regard to HIV/AIDS care and treatment of the health facility;
- Develop and submit the monthly activity report to Technical Service Money no later than the 2nd day of each month.
Clinical activities (50%)
- Support implementation of national HIV/AIDS program guidelines, including antiretroviral treatment and treatment of opportunistic infections
- Support the roll-out of Index Case testing with a focus on sexual contacts of newly diagnosed HIV patients and those with a high viral load;
- Diagnose and manage cases of treatment failure, opportunistic infections and co-infections, advanced HIV infection, as well as initiation of antiretroviral therapy, second- or third-line antiretroviral therapy;
- Keep up to date with new TB treatment regimens and drug-resistant/extensively drug-resistant TB protocols;
- Provide care to all patients with respect for their uniqueness, using sound judgment, individual skills and qualifications, and collaborating with the care team.
- Assess the physical and mental state of the patient on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care;
- Provide general clinical support to the services of the hospital of assignment (departments of internal medicine and pediatrics);
- Ensure the appropriate diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients with Kaposi’s sarcoma undergoing chemotherapy;
- Keep the patient and / or family informed of the disease and provide appropriate explanations of the treatment to be followed;
- Ensure continuous training and mentoring of the multidisciplinary medical / paramedical team in order to optimize the quality of care and empower staff;
- Complete patient files, collect and analyze medical data and participate in medical reports;
- Submit monthly summary reports to the District Coordinator of Integrated HIV Services and the HIV Services Coordinator/Major at their designated facility regarding their clinical and programmatic activities
PROFILE
- Medical degree with at least (05) five years of experience in the clinical management of HIV patients;
- Registration with the National Order of Physicians of Cameroon is compulsory;
- At least five (05) years of experience in a health services management position in a hospital or in a health district is mandatory
- Training in management or project management would be an asset;
- A very good knowledge of Microsoft software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is mandatory.
- Fluency in French is a key requirement and working knowledge of English is an advantage;
- Strong work ethic and ability and willingness to work under pressure;
- Ability to work in a team and willingness to learn;
