Call for applications for the recruitment of 26 facilitators – Plan for Girls (P4G)-NGONG

1. Background 

The Plan for Girls project is an initiative based on an integrated and gender-transformative approach, aimed at improving the realization of the rights and improving the well-being of young women and adolescent girls in Cameroon. It is funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and Plan International Canada for the period 2018-2023, and implemented by Plan International Cameroon. The innovative approach, girl-led planning in collaboration with local authorities, the private sector and community members, will develop and implement an integrated package of interventions for adolescent girls at the decentralized level in two municipalities (Lagdo and Ngong) which are in the department of Bénoué in Cameroon.

Desired qualifications and experience 

  • Be between 25 and 35 years old
  •  Have at least a diploma of Brevet des Etudes du Premier Cycle (BEPC) or an equivalent recognized diploma.
  •  Have proven experience in community animation / social mobilization;
  • Have group work experience;
  • Be able to work in rural areas and under pressure;
  • Knowledge of the intervention area 
  • Mastery of the computer tool (Word);
  •  Priority will be given to nationals of the following villages:

Ngong, windé qigong, Douka Gainako, Koubadjé, Bouadjoumt, Tchéboa lamordé, Laindé Tchéboa, Ndiola, Gada Tchoffol, laindé karewa, Langui social, Langui Mahol and Baroume.

3. Skills

  •  Being able to express yourself correctly in Fulfulde and French or English (mandatory) and another local language would be an asset; 
  • Be of good character and honest, 
  •  Will be considered as assets: notions of human rights, gender equality and gender-based violence and reproductive health targeting adolescents;
  • Be able to animate groups of young people; 

Missions related to the position (non-exhaustive)

 
Under the hierarchical supervision of the Community Animator, the candidate must meet the following conditions:

  • Schedule and monitor field activities:
  • Supervise groups of girls and boys; 
  •  Feed back useful information for the proper functioning of groups of girls and boys; 
  •  Facilitate and monitor groups of girls and boys in rural areas;
  •  Participate in the popularization of the rights of adolescents and other similar services; 
  •  Promote the gender approach and protection in rural and urban areas;
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the hierarchy. 
Recruitment process Recruitment is divided into 05 steps:

  • Launch of the call for applications;
  •  Selection of files in line with the call for applications for the position; 
  • Written test; Interview with the successful candidates; 
  •  Publication of the results and summons of the selected candidates for the procedures for taking up service and deployment in the field. 
Duration of the contract and place of work

  •  The duration of the voluntary facilitator contract is 09 months; 
  •  Place of work: Commune of Ngong (pilot villages of the P4G project) mentioned above
  • The CoC facilitator recruited under this project will have the status of community volunteer and cannot claim a monthly salary. However, he will be entitled to a monthly motivation bonus payable in proportion to his results. 
  •  The recruited CoC facilitator is not a FEPES NGONG staff 
Composition of the file

  • A detailed and up-to-date CV;
  •  A letter of motivation addressed to the Plan For Girls-Ngong Project Coordinator; 
  •  All documents justifying the mentioned jobs and experiences; 
  • Photocopy of the diplomas mentioned; 
  •  A letter of recommendation from a traditional and/or religious authority of the requested village including the telephone number of the signatory; 
Submission and deadline for admissibility of application files

Applications will be submitted no later than July 12, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. at the P4G Ngong office located in the Lakaré district behind the Ngong police station or at the District Delegation for the Promotion of Women and the Family of Tchéboa.
