CARE Cameroon is an international non-profit NGO that leads development and humanitarian response projects for disadvantaged populations. As part of the continuation of its activities, CARE is looking for:

Position : One(01) Archives Officer

Division : Internal Audit-Coordination

Contract form: CDD (12 months) – full time

Reporting line : Internal Audit Manager

Job location : Yaoundé

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Archives Officer within the CARE Cameroon organization, under the supervision of the Internal Audit Manager, will be responsible for assisting the latter in carrying out the following project:

    • Implementation of an archiving policy, processing of the history of all the archives, organization of the archiving of the country office;
    • Design and implementation of the mission’s archiving system in collaboration with all stakeholders, including electronic and paper documents: archiving policy and procedure
  • Processing of archive history: sorting, destruction, classification, description, making of archive inventories; collection procedures;
  • Material management of documents: organization of flows, control of conservation areas, preventive and palliative conservation;
  • Protection, dissemination and enhancement of archives
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications: 
  • Bac+3 level required (archives specialty) or any other proven training/experience in archive management;
  • Experience in archiving of at least years, in an international NGO would be an asset.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft office: Word- Excel- Powerpoint- Outlook, archiving software, accounting management software would be an asset.
Personal skills:
  • Open-mindedness and ability to work in a team;
  • Ability to identify and assess risks;
  • Advisory strength and support;
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a multicultural environment;
  • Have great written and oral communication skills;
  • Have a perfect command of French; good communication skills in English would be an asset
