The association for the reduction of risks related to drug use among LGBT (sex workers / IDU) in Cameroon (Alcondoms Cameroon) is recruiting an Accountant.

Alcondoms Cameroon is an association created in 2012 by a group of young people aware of the risks faced with HIV, hepatitis, drug abuse and sexually transmitted infections in general, by sex workers / IDUs, and MSM.

It is a non-profit association, governed by law n ° 090/053 of December 19, 1990 on freedom of association in Cameroon, Receipt n ° 327/2014 / RDA / C19 / SAAJP

With a seat in Douala located at Bonaberi mabanda, rue 4085

Responsibilities :

The Accountant is responsible for:

  • Participate in the development of the financial and accounting procedures manual of Alcondoms Cameroon;
  • Check the compliance of financial operations with the requirements of the procedures manual and ensure their recording in an approved accounting software;
  • Participate in the periodic evaluation of the movable and immovable heritage of Alcondoms Cameroon;
  • Produce periodic financial reports addressed to the partner and to ALCONDOMS
  • Provide advice to the Executive Board of Alcondoms Cameroon in understanding the real financial situation of the association and in developing its financial policy;
  • Intervene in any activity where its competence is necessary.
  • Provide a financial report to the CHP partner each month
  • Evaluate the financial aspect of field activities
  • Respond to partner feedback
  • Attend all monthly and weekly meetings

Required qualities :

  • Adherence to the values ​​of Alcondoms Cameroon;
  • An activity or a history of sex work is a priority for equal candidates 
  • A degree in material accounting;
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in an associative environment;
  • A good knowledge of the legislation, policies, tools and software validated in accounting in Cameroon and internationally;
  • A good understanding of the social, legal and health concerns of sex workers;
  • Oral and written communication skills;
  • An ability to communicate fluently in French and preferably in English as well;
  • Computer knowledge;
  • Skills in interpersonal management.
